Every Client is a member of Better Insurance. As a mutual company, we operate differently from a corporation that must answer to requirements of investors and shareholders. Each member has limited but important influence and input into making our company better. That effort begins with growing the company through your network. The more people you bring in, the more you benefit - starting with your first 4 referrals.

The moment you sign up and are approved for insurance through Better Insurance, you will automatically receive a 20% Client Refund. Every year you don't have a wreck or major claim, you get back 20% of what you paid for insurance in that year. You can double that to 40% ROI by referring 4 Better Drivers to Better Insurance. An easy formula for doing this is 2 family members, 1 co-worker, one friend, or any combination of people in your life that place a value on good driving and / or would like to receive some kind of reward incentive for being a good driver.

For those who are salespeople or who would like an opportunity to make money through referrals, you can make money after your first 4 approved referrals. The table below shows the referral incentive per client and the bonuses for each level. ​​​​


Sales Made Simple

To make the sales process easy, do these simple steps:

​1. Engage the potential client

Do you like paying for a product you don't use?

Have you ever had a wreck?

If not, what have you gained in benefit from auto insurance?

2. Confirm they have not had a wreck or DUI in the last 5 years

If not, go to Step 3.

If so, point them to the website and move on to the next opportunity with the phrase "See you in 5 years!"

3. Direct them to the website to sign up

Use your personalized QR code to direct them, or point them to the website / app

Encourage them to Get My Quote on the spot if they have time, or make sure they use your name and phone number in the referral section so you get credit if they sign up

4. Let the value speak for itself

If they believe they have a better deal with their current insurance, offer them a quote and move on

They will come around once they see that they pay less for insurance AND get money back with us

Some people have to learn the hard way - spend your time on those who see the value upfront, and let everyone who gets it be the first to benefit

5. Close the deal

Make sure they sign up using your contact info, or you can walk them through the Get My Quote process and make sure they do it right

Once they are approved and make their first payment, you get paid for that referral

Additional Guidance & Info
This network referral system is not a pyramid scheme or MLM concept. Each member must refer their 4 Better Drivers to obtain their 40%.

The concept sells itself - we are offering auto insurance with incentives and refunds that have never been seen before in the auto insurance industry. If someone doesn't want 40% back on money they are currently giving away without any hope of return, don't waste a single second of your time defending the obvious. Chances are high that they aren't smart enough to be a Better Driver anyway.

Sales incentives that exceed $600 in a given year will be subject to taxation by the IRS. We will send out a 1099-NEC Registration Form to every Client meeting this requirement in preparation for the upcoming tax year in which they will report their referral incentive income. ​

Be kind to people who have had wrecks or DUIs. Confirm if the wreck was their fault or not - waivers are provided for those who were in an accident that wasn't their fault. Those at fault will also ultimately become clients once they can prove the merits of their driving and the lessons learned from doing things the hard way.
Client Approval Standards

Not everyone can be a Better Insurance Client. The table above contains a partial set of guidelines for approval that is our standard for doing business. Those who have incurred penalties or claims that were their fault will be required to prove they can do better for a period of 5 years before we put their risky actions and behaviors into the same liability pool that Better Drivers are in.
It isn't right that those who operate a motor vehicle while intoxicated be covered under the same pool of money as those who are smart and responsible enough to not do something like that. It should be noted here that every Client agrees via contract to a zero-tolerance policy for DUIs as a member of Better Insurance. With the advent of rideshares and smartphones, there is absolutely zero excuse to get behind the wheel while intoxicated. If these statements are offensive or hit close to home for you, then Better Insurance is not for you.
